Tokyo—Oct,4 2017—Makeblock’s new products Makeblock Neuron and Airblock stood out from over 4,495 submitted works and won Good Design Award in Japan. The two winning products will participate the Good Design Exhibition 2017 at Tokyo Midtown from November 1 – 5.
Good Design Award has been a sole comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system in Japan since 1957.It picks good design out of a variety of unfolding phenomena, and aims to enrich our lives, industries, and society as a whole by highlighting and celebrating these works. Good Design Award enjoys high prestige globally. Besides Japan, this year’ awarded products are come from overseas including China, U.S., U.K., Germany, Denmark and etc.
Mr. Kazufumi Nagai who is good design award chairman and Ms. Fumie Shibata who is vice chairman give the message of Awards of 2017: ” Not insisting just one protrude design, each respective design charging in each role sincerely, and accumulating our live and making image of this world.” This year’s Good Design Award make more deepen role of proper up to now. The winner Airblock is an easy-to-use modular and programmable aircraft able to transform into drone, hovercraft, and more. Its graphical programming interface makes it a fun and intuitive aerial platform, while custom-engineered magnetic connectors makes assembly quick and easy. The Good Design Award jury commented that “It is modularized, simple, safe and product extensible. These are the main reasons Airblock was awarded.”
The other winner Makeblock Neuron is a programmable electronic building-block platform for STEM education and practice. It contains more than 30 kinds of blocks with different functions; every block can bind with the others to become a multifunctional smart electronics solution. With the intuitive flow-based Makeblock programming app, Makeblock Neuron enable makers of all programming levels to build a variety of innovative gadgets with ease, turning their unlimited ideas into reality.The Good Design Award jury appraised that :“Through this visually touchable hardware module, children can comprehend the training on programming and logical thinking so that programming will no longer be a boring task.”
