Makeblock user mcwiggin shared his DIY Quadcopter build using Makeblock parts as the frame on Reddit. He said the main goal is not photography, he was looking to build an arial platform that he can add lots of stuff on to like a grappling hook.
Right now the copter currently hovers very well at 30% throttle. If I shutoff the top set of rotors the copter is able to hover just fine at 50% throttle. The total weight right now is 12lbs.
