Makerathon is a large-scale creative activity of Makeblock, as well as one of its significant enterprise culture. The Makerathon is hold every one month with a special theme. Members of Makeblock take part in the activity and construct original projects according to theme within 24 hours.
The 23rd Makerathon
The Makeblock Makerathon has been held for 23 periods up to May, 2016. Since the 23rd Makerathon is close to the Children’s Day, the activity theme is about making gifs for children – how pleasing it is!
Let’s take a look at the creative gifs prepared by every team throughout the night.
Project of the Champion
I suppose you must be familiar with the story of Danbo. Well, the champion’s project is exactly about a box, well, more exactly, Boxtrolls. The Boxtrolls is just an ordinary box at the first sight, but when you touch its tentacle on its head, it will change into a cute boxtroll. Creative ideas are always from reality, so I hope this gift will inspire children to think divergently, and to turn waste into wealth.
Other Wonderful Projects
Of course we would help our kids to realize their dreams of being heroes in such happy festival! Finally the “Blockman” showed up in Makeblock. This team aimed to make an armour for the children in solid and cool blue metal. The Blockman can emit bright light from its breast, and is equipped with Hollywood-style red glove and fashionable flight launcher (are you sure it’s not a peacock showing its tail?).
What do you do when feeling bored, looking up at the starry sky or just staying in a room alone? This project is a box which can interact with you by making some exaggerate actions when you are bored.
This project is totally a handwork. A good toy should be full of creativity and expansibility, so this team tried to make magnetic blocks for DIY. The blocks includes two types – square and triangle. You can make various figures with your imagination. Also, the magnetic blocks can combine with electronic modules to make some projects like cars or houses.
Dogs are the most faithful friends of human beings as well as the most intimate friends of children. The mechanical dog can walk as the real dogs, interact with people through expressions and sound, and go after its own tail.
Here is a story! Agan is an ostrich broken in body but firm in spirit (a robot that can walk upright). Due to some problems with its legs, it walks jerkily and unevenly. However, Aku is a duck that can walk freely and avoid obstacles. Agan and Aku become friends because of the destiny, and they help each other and travel around together, which encourages children to be strong.
So these are the projects from seven groups. Which one do you like most?
